Hard truths

Great leadership does not mean running away from reality. Sometimes the hard truths might just demoralize the command, but at other times sharing difficulties can inspire your Sailors to take action that will make the situation better.

Captain Lambert,

Truth was a thing that I felt we lived by years ago, and it mattered not in those days how one might suffer but the truth prevailed, or that is what I felt at that time, and continued to feel for the remainder of my Navy career. I do not recall our great leaders of those times, Truman, Eisenhower, and Kennedy lying to the public in such a fashion that we are seeing today. These were the days that I was in the Navy and it was my job to not discriminate against our CIC but to follow his orders without question. There is a great deal of difference in what takes place in today’s Armed Services and those words of truth that we once depended upon, I feel are not present in the environment of today’s Military Services.

Very Respectfully,
Navyman834
