Not everyone needs your EXCEPTIONAL professional advice !! Get over it.
Anyone who turns down mentorship is either so arrogant they will fail or so overconfident they are surely to fall...has nothing to do with the person offering the advice, another vantage point is always of value for real leaders and decision makers.

I first joined the Navy in the 80s and LCDR were considered JOs back then. O-gangers don't get "scrambled eggs" until they're CDRs.
doesn't know what he is missing out on. Any nugget or pearl of wisdom you can gain as a leader is one more tool for your tool box. I never served with CAPT Lambert, but I consider him a mentor for the information he shared with me prior to taking command.
Incredible! Always take advice from those who have, to borrow a phrase, been there and done that! It makes your tenure much more productive. Remember, advice is just that, and is actionable only if the receiver so desires.
