Hope you're not offended - ASK HER WHEN SHE'S SOBER

If you were in the same situation as this poster, what else could you say to your friend to keep them from victimizing a fellow Sailor?

Suggestions:
  • It’s not worth it man. She looks pretty drunk, and this could go really bad for you both.
  • Dude, just ask her for her number.
  • What if your little sister was in that kind of shape, how would you want a guy to act?

I don't know who is responsible for this advertising campaign and I am happy to say that I haven't seen these posters anywhere. The NYTimes had an editorial about "Sexual Violence and the Military" and they mention these posters as 'grotesque parody'.  There is plenty in this advertising campaign to offend nearly everyone serving their country.

All part of DoD's Sexual Assault Prevention and Response SAPR.  You can read more HERE.

The Navy reports great results from its drug testing program. For fiscal year 2011, there were a record low number of members who tested positive for illicit drug use with a total of 1,515 samples out of the 1,184,160 samples tested last year.

So, we're going to test for new and different things so we can get those numbers up.

I would say that person is not my friend!

Ask her again after she's naked, just to make sure. If you can capture her answer on your iphone, even better.

GROTESQUE is correct.

It'd be interesting to compare this military sponsored program to those of college campuses across the country.

Check out what colleges are doing here:

Some folks are doing a very good job at advertising the Navy as a bunch of irresponsible drunken rapists.

Captain Lambert,

It certainly would appear that nothing is a surprise these days, but there is a culprit amongst us today whose moniker is liberal upbringing, having been exposed to many of the same circumstances that Sailors are today I do not recall the first sexual assault at a command were I was a member, and only was aware of one case of drug usage. We have always had women in the Navy, though not as many as today, and drugs have been around since well before I was in boot camp, the difference would appear to be the character and quality of the personnel entering the Navy.

Very Respectfully,
