Not for long, I bet.

Andy was handpicked based upon the combination of demonstrated (selfless) passion for the Navy/IDC/Community, collaborative approach to getting things done, competence and performance/billet history. Those characteristics trumped a perceived requirement for specific collar devices. We are extremely fortunate to have him in this very role and are looking forward to his arrival.

OK - What exactly does a "Community Manager" do?

I think it is like a 'community organizer'. Does things on behalf of the larger community.

Basically responsible for the health and welfare of active and reserve IW officer community, focusing on the 5-15 year horizon.

More specifically...

Responsible for accession, retention, and promotion planning. Validates/Aligns billet requirements, assists in the development and management of qualification programs and training/experience continuum. Everything in Millington involving a community less distribution, which is handled by detailers.
