A good year to be above the zone.

CAPT, I'd like to hear your thoughts on why the AZ folks are getting picked up in droves over the last couple of years. Are boards correcting previous overlooks? Are board member personalities so different that they value different elements of the record (still iaw Precept, of course)? Can officers really turn their prospects around in 1 year from IZ to AZ looks?

I'll admit it's a little disconcerting to see some of the O-6 and O-5 selects and those passed over the last couple years. there doesn't seem to be much rhyme or reason wrt career paths and promotion. Is this truly a tectonic shift in the IW community of what experience it values and who it promotes (with sustained superior performance being the assumed given)?

I believe the last couple of years the AZ folks have been getting a serious look, the numbers appear to be about 10 percent, per the board precept. Unless I misread it.

Captain thanks for the kind words. Paul
