Rear Admiral Grace Hopper
Musings, leadership tidbits and quotes posted by a retired Navy Captain (really just a high performing 2nd Class Petty Officer) who hung up his uniform a bit too early. He still wears his Navy service on his sleeve. He needs to get over that. "ADVANCE WARNING - NO ORIGINAL THOUGHT!" A "self-appointed" lead EVANGELIST for the "cryptologic community". Keeping CRYPTOLOGY alive-one day and Sailor at a time. 2015 is 80th Anniversary of the Naval Security Group.

Captain Lambert,
It was my great honor to work with Commander Grace Hopper for a period of time while I served aboard the USS Observation Island (EAG 154) in conjunction with R & D of the Poseidon C3 Missile, and its EX 88 missile fire control system. This was in 1970 and Commander Hopper along with her team installed target parameters for a test missile to be launched at a later date. She discovered one bug in the system, which I corrected to her satisfaction. She was a good Sailor, a competent leader and a very knowledgeable individual.
