Musings, leadership tidbits and quotes posted by a retired Navy Captain (really just a high performing 2nd Class Petty Officer) who hung up his uniform a bit too early. He still wears his Navy service on his sleeve. He needs to get over that. "ADVANCE WARNING - NO ORIGINAL THOUGHT!" A "self-appointed" lead EVANGELIST for the "cryptologic community". I served at NSGD Atsugi (80-83). My son's in-laws live in Iwaki City. My wife and I have many fine memories of the beautiful country of Japan. We wish you well and pray for your people.
Thanks for the link to Japan Red Cross. We donated using the link. It works !!
I borrowed this Japanese picture to post on my blog, I hope you do not mind.

My kids' Mom in Sweden,
We are all "borrowers". I am glad you thought enough of it to use it. I borrowed it from the Japanese.
I know your family has a strong connection to friends in Japan. My wife spoke to ours yesterday. Each call ends with tears. Not from fear but from comfort in knowing people care.
All the best.
Mike
My daughter is living in Yokohama (husband is a LT with CTF74 in Yokosuka). Check out her blog at littleredninja.com for a seven minute video of the earthquake taken in their apartment (and also some updated information). Like LCDR Huber, I also spent some time in Japan, and have driven through Sendai in happier days. The people there are tough and they will recover. In the meantime, our thoughts and prayers are for them.
