Captain Lambert,

You have no doubt captured some attention; it is hoped you are amenable to continue your needed efforts well into the foreseeable future. BZ Captain.

Captain,

We read you every day. Your blog is a regular topic of discussion among some of the senior leadership. Still not safe to be associated with you but appreciate your work (most of the time).

Neither is silent criticism. Speak up and make it constructive. Offer a solution.

NIOC CO,

I don't understand your comment "Still not safe to be associated with you...." Please explain if you please.

You offer some great professional reading, no matter what designator one holds. As Cyber interest grows throughout our military and country, this blog has brought to my attention many different things going on within our Navy. This blog doesn’t miss a beat! Your posts on leadership are very thought provoking and insightful. Not a weekday passes without me checking this blog and I look forward to many more interesting reads!

@NIOC CO - Don't know who you are, but your statement disappoints me and is counter to the culture WE are building. Were you paying attention at this week's Commander's Conference?

Mike - More than two current NIOC COs appreciate your mentorship and I hate to think I am the only one willing to publicly express gratitude. Thank YOU for MAKING the time to make us better!

NIOC CO,

I also find it disappointing that you feel it isn't "safe" to associate with a retired Navy Captain. Sounds a little too politically correct for this old retired Chief "I" brancher. I understand it's a different Navy now, not necessarily a worse one, but different, but it smacks of CYA when you say you can't be openly associated with a fellow Navy officer. Mike and I go back together to language school in 1975 and I believe you would be hard pressed to find someone better to emulate than someone who is a complete advocate and supporter of the community and sailors you have been charged to lead.

@ Joe Sullivan,

Thanks for the vote of confidence. I appreciate it. I know some senior leaders in our community have 'damned' junior and mid-grade officers for agreeing with me in the past. I hope we are past that now.
