A wild beast

"A man without ethics is a wild beast loosed upon this world."

  1. Do bad ethics count?
    That sounds ethnocentric.
Most wild beasts eat what they kill. Is that ethical?

    I work for the government
    They work for the government
    They leave behind broken stuff
I take some of the parts off and use them
    To fix other government stuff
    Is that ethical?

    My name is Ralph
    I live in Russia
I blew the whistle on the most egregious UnAmerican and illegal behavior in our history
    Was that ethical?

If a blind government appointed judge
throws out all my rights guaranteed under the Constitution
    Is that ethical?
    Is it just?

    Are ethics like morality?
    Are they conditional?
It was both a sin and a crime to be homosexual
Until the Navy decided to celebrate its gayness
and reward those it had earlier condemned

When first we practice to deceive
    do we first deceive ourselves
or just allow others to pull the wool over our eyes?

You have been appointed to court of the Star Chamber
Do you, as an ethical American
    Go along to get along?
Take notes about the unconscionable things you were party to
and publish them after your death?

When you do lie awake at night and listen to your thoughts
do you ever question the things you did that day and
Wonder if maybe you violated both the spirit and the intent
of the Constitution and our founding documents
Or do you roll over consoled knowing that J. Edgar Hoover
    approved of this message?
