Leadership

“Leadership consists of picking good men and helping them do their best for you. The attributes of loyalty, discipline and devotion to duty on the part of subordinates must be matched by patience, tolerance and understanding on the part of superiors.”

  1. hmm. Leaders are not given the luxury of picking good men since they must make do with what they have been given. True leadership is building what you've been given into an effective command that builds on the strengths of all and buttresses the weaknesses of others while constantly striving to improve the overall abilities of everyone so they can grow to become the pillars of the command and other commands in the future.
