Words worth noting

TO THE MEN AND WOMEN OF NAVY CYBER WARFARE DEVELOPMENT GROUP, WE ARE TRULY FORTUNATE TO SHARE THIS MOMENT, AND TOGETHER, BY THE GRACE OF GOD, WE WILL EARN A REPUTATION FOR ACTION AND ACCOMPLISHMENT THAT WILL CAUSE ALL HERE TO REMEMBER THAT THEY WERE PRESENT WHEN WE PLANKOWNERS TOOK OUR CHARGE.  I ORDER YOU TO TAKE UP THE TONGS AND HAMMER OF YOUR INITIATIVE, AND UPON THE ANVIL OF YOUR INTELLECT, FORGE YOUR IDEAS INTO BRILLIANT WEAPONS THAT WILL SAFEGUARD OUR NAVY AND OUR NATION IN A SHADOW REALM OF FURTIVE ENEMIES, FALSE FRIENDS AND UNSURE ALLIES – AN EVERCHANGING DOMAIN WHERE VICTORY IS NOT MEASURED IN TERRITORY GAINED AND DEFEAT WILL COST OUR CITIZENS NOT ONLY BLOOD BUT OTHER PRECIOUS TREASURES:  THEIR URGENT CREATIVITY, UNLIMITED INGENUITY AND FEARLESS OPTIMISM.

I CANNOT KNOW YOUR THOUGHTS RIGHT NOW, BUT I CAN TELL YOU THAT I AM WEARY OF THE PUNDITS’ WARNINGS; TIRED OF THE VAGUE THREATS; UNWILLING TO BE A SLAVE TO FEAR; AND READY NOW TO TAKE FIRM ACTION TO PROTECT OUR NATION’S PREROGATIVES.  WE MUST NOT FAIL, AND IF YOU BELIEVE IN YOUR SKILLS, FIGHTING SPIRIT AND OATH OF SERVICE, WE WILL NOT FAIL.

  1. If we were in a southern church, I would give the Captain a resounding AMEN! Good to see someone speaking strongly about these issues. Captain Parode is an American Patriot and I applaud his remarks!

  2. Sounds like a "war paint" speech to me. Prepare to lob the Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch.

  3. Steve is a great American. Navy is lucky to have him.

  4. Outstanding words! Captain Parode's remarks are reminiscent of JRR Tolkien's Gandalf on the grim Bridge of Khazad-dum, in the mines of Moria: "You shall not pass!" he declared, "Be gone!" he ordered the fiery monster before him. Like Tolkien's wizard, so does this new Skipper hold the secret flames - of responsibility and leadership. May he exercise his authority wisely - and in such wiswdom prove the beauty of accountability borne well by a true master.

  5. Would he not then be a classic wizard?

  6. Steve Parode is much brighter than some of those above him -- worked with him some time ago, and am glad to see him in this leadership position.

We expected more from Captain Parode. He hasn't lived up to all the hype.

  8. Seems like a fellow CPO is out of touch with their command to the point they don't even know it's proper name... Brother/Sister, I encourage you to get out from behind your desk, embrace the command vision and be part of the solution. We are truly challenged at this command and it's time to step up: "WE MUST NOT FAIL, AND IF YOU BELIEVE IN YOUR SKILLS, FIGHTING SPIRIT AND OATH OF SERVICE, WE WILL NOT FAIL."

  9. Lots of our officers here fail to promote. If this is the PREMIER R&D command, why does this happen?

The tongs and hammer of indifference have pounded the crap out of my motivation on the anvil of my intellectual honesty.
