“No matter how long I live, no matter how many more different jobs I may have,
I have already been given the highest reward I’ll ever receive, the privilege and the responsibility of serving very proudly in the United States Navy.”
Rear Admiral Grace Hopper
Captain Lambert,
ReplyDeleteIt was my great honor to work with Commander Grace Hopper for a period of time while I served aboard the USS Observation Island (EAG 154) in conjunction with R & D of the Poseidon C3 Missile, and its EX 88 missile fire control system. This was in 1970 and Commander Hopper along with her team installed target parameters for a test missile to be launched at a later date. She discovered one bug in the system, which I corrected to her satisfaction. She was a good Sailor, a competent leader and a very knowledgeable individual.
