A Commander's Philosophy We Can Endorse

The following character traits not only define our organizational characteristics, but help us meet our challenges head on.

Civility - Be kind. Share credit. And keep your sense of humor.

Quiet Confidence - Be calm and steady always. Do not let ego stand in the way of progress.

Creativity - Be a sparkplug. Always ask, "How can I do this better?"

Teamwork and Collaboration - Work together. No one of us is as smart as all of us thinking together.

Determination - Never, never, never give up!

Honesty and Integrity - Never violate the law or regulations. Tell the truth unflinchingly.

Admiral James Stavridis, Commander - U.S. Southern Command
