VADM Jan E. Tighe
Perhaps a more important Naval figure than RADM Grace Hopper.
A bit of trivia - Note that VADM Tighe wears NAO wings earned while serving as a COMEVAL with VQ-1. VADM Tighe is the most senior of any officer that ever flew with VQ -- several of the 1310/1320/1610 guys made it to RADM, but to the best of my knowledge none made it past that. A silent salute to VADM Tighe from a former VQ-1 COMEVAL. BZ!
Not sure I would compare VADM Tighe to Grace Hopper. The latter had a far more lasting impact to the Navy while the former has achieved much as an individual. Ultimately VADM Tighe's impact to the larger Service is yet to be seen and I would posit that upon retirement there will be great individual success, but nominal Navy impact.

No doubt about that.

I just had a meeting with her and the CNO. She asked the right questions.
Frankly, it's tough to discern what the most recent generation of admirals in N2N6 have brought to the table in terms of leadership and vision.
