Musings, leadership tidbits and quotes posted by a retired Navy Captain (really just a high performing 2nd Class Petty Officer) who hung up his uniform a bit too early. He still wears his Navy service on his sleeve. He needs to get over that. "ADVANCE WARNING - NO ORIGINAL THOUGHT!" A "self-appointed" lead EVANGELIST for the "cryptologic community". Keeping CRYPTOLOGY alive-one day and Sailor at a time. 2015 is 80th Anniversary of the Naval Security Group.
There he is at the entrance to Bancroft Hall!
ReplyDeleteCaptain Lambert,
ReplyDeleteI was honored to serve as COB for 6 deterrent patrols in USS Tecumseh (SSBN 628), it pleases me to read the words of honor that some have repeated that came from the thoughts of Chief Tecumseh, I thank you Mr. Wilson for re- reminding me of those days serving in Tecumseh nearly 40 years ago, I never needed to be reminded, as those days are never to be forgotten by this old Sailor, but to see words dedicated to leadership themes for this Navy and country I can feel justly proud that I knew and served my country, just as Chief Tecumseh served his people.
Nearly every day I was onboard Tecumseh I would view his bronze image at the foot of the ladder that led to Crews Berthing, the thoughts of who he was and what he did for his Civilized Nations has been an inspiration for many over the years, that thought was with me often as I nearly always laid my hand upon that bronze image of Tecumseh in those day.
“I intend to” express my gratitude to Captain David Marquet for his distinct leadership role while serving as Commanding Officer of the USS Santa Fe (SSN 763), it is certain that your insight to Naval leadership will continue to have great value to our Navy, the Submarine Force and to our Country, and I thank you, Sir, for your contributions.
Very Respectfully,
E. A. Hughes, FTCM(SS)
