Musings, leadership tidbits and quotes posted by a retired Navy Captain (really just a high performing 2nd Class Petty Officer) who hung up his uniform a bit too early. He still wears his Navy service on his sleeve. He needs to get over that. "ADVANCE WARNING - NO ORIGINAL THOUGHT!" A "self-appointed" lead EVANGELIST for the "cryptologic community". A bit of advice for the Secretary of the Navy
LTjg Ray E. Mabus - USS LITTLE ROCK 1972
Trust Sailors and they will be true to you;
treat them greatly, and they will show themselves great.
The Mabus initiated breathalyzer is completely counter to this and a scourge that will forever tarnish his name in Sailors eyes. Trust a man by what he does - not by what he says.
The Honorable Secretary of the Navy might appear to some as a little scruffy, but that was years ago in the Days of Z-Grams. It would also appear to this old Sailor that he had found his area of liking and is still doing some scruffy things.
A true statement. Sadly he doesn't follow his own advice.
ReplyDeleteI think this is advice "for" him, not "from" him.
