Musings, leadership tidbits and quotes posted by a retired Navy Captain (really just a high performing 2nd Class Petty Officer) who hung up his uniform a bit too early. He still wears his Navy service on his sleeve. He needs to get over that. "ADVANCE WARNING - NO ORIGINAL THOUGHT!" A "self-appointed" lead EVANGELIST for the "cryptologic community". Keeping CRYPTOLOGY alive-one day and Sailor at a time. 2015 is 80th Anniversary of the Naval Security Group.
There was a time, though not recently, when Navy officers were true gentlemen. They kept their word. They met their obligations with pride. They lived their lives honorably and selflessly. They were true to their families and their sailors. You can still find such men. But today they are rare indeed and more rare in their good deeds. Those days are gone, never to return. Move on.
ReplyDeleteOl’ School,
ReplyDeleteI have been out of the Navy longer than I was in the Navy, but I still have the faith that there are officers in this Navy that are of the same caliber as those officers were many years ago, it is not the fault of those young officers that they were raised in a liberal society of these days and they have to exert themselves to a greater extent than their predecessors to be equal to them in the qualities and desirable attributes of a Navy Officer. I have the faith that there are many Officers that can still meet the challenge of being what they should be to the Navy and to the Sailors that they are given the responsibility to lead.
Very Respectfully,
