ReplyDeleteHow many readers have been detailed to voting membership in a Navy promotion board – taken away from demanding duties of the day and sent to an even more important act: to change another human life? Selection board duty is a privilege – an experience that can show how your career proceeded, from the careful assessments and trust of seniors. Hopefully, in the fullness of time, each member who reaches requisite seniority and has shown moral courage, keen understanding of his or her profession, and has the common sense that result in wise choices, will, in turn, perform a duty that, short of combat, will affect the Fleet’s battle-readiness and efficiency, the Shore Establishment’s smooth operation, and the good name of the Navy
